BDEServices RTL8125 RDMA provides a streamlined network-based alternative to a traditional DMA card. Using a compatible RTL8125 2.5GbE network adapter and our custom driver, supported DMA software can communicate between your primary and secondary PC without requiring a traditional DMA board or separate firmware.

This setup is designed for users who want a simpler two-PC configuration using readily available PCIe Ethernet hardware.

What is RDMA?

RDMA, or Remote Direct Memory Access, allows data to be transferred between systems with significantly reduced communication overhead compared with conventional network communication.

Our implementation uses a compatible Realtek RTL8125-based PCIe network adapter installed in the primary PC together with a custom driver. Data is then transmitted to the secondary PC over the local network.

Unlike a traditional DMA setup, a dedicated DMA board and separate DMA firmware are not required.

The RTL8125 version is our standard 2.5GbE RDMA option and is designed for users who want a cost-effective entry point into a network-based DMA setup.

Typical maximum software benchmark value: approximately 8,000.

This value refers to the benchmark/read-speed measurement shown by compatible DMA software and should not be interpreted as Mbps, MB/s, or raw Ethernet throughput.

Actual results depend on your network adapter, motherboard, PCIe configuration, secondary PC network interface, drivers, network equipment, cabling, operating system, and software workload.

For substantially higher benchmark performance, see our RTL8126 5GbE RDMA solution. RTL8126 test configurations can achieve approximately 18,000–20,000+ benchmark values under suitable conditions.

Recommended Hardware

We recommend using a quality RTL8125B 2.5GbE PCIe Network Adapter.

One commonly compatible option is the Binardat 2.5G PCIe Network Adapter with RTL8125B chipset.

Other RTL8125 and RTL8125B adapters may also work; however, board revisions and controller implementations can vary between manufacturers. If you are unsure about compatibility, contact us with the exact model of your network adapter before purchasing.
